Our History
Castillo Prestress, as it is currently known, was founded in the early 1970’s by Francis L. Castillo & Regina T. Castillo.
Castillo Prestress began with a simple goal: provide quality materials and dependable service to the local construction community. In the early 1970s, Francis L. Castillo and Regina T. Castillo founded Castillo Sand & Gravel, laying the foundation for what would become a multi-faceted construction materials company.
As the needs of Valencia County grew, so did the company. In the mid-1980s, the Castillos expanded into redi-mix concrete production, forming Castillo Redi-Mix, Inc. Their commitment to quality and service quickly built strong relationships throughout the region.
In the 2000s, customers began requesting precast and prestressed concrete products. Responding to that demand, Castillo Prestress was established. Through innovation, investment, and dedication to excellence, the company has since grown into a leader in the precast and prestressed concrete industry across the Southwestern United States.
Today, Castillo Prestress continues to build on its legacy — producing precast and prestressed concrete products, supplying construction aggregates through Castillo Aggregates, and providing redi-mix concrete through Castillo Redi-Mix to meet the evolving needs of contractors and communities throughout New Mexico.
